Jan-Man publishes public-interest media, research and explainers in Hindi and English. Our purpose is to improve understanding of issues that affect communities and public life.

Accuracy and sourcing

We aim to verify important claims, use reliable sources and distinguish reported information from analysis, opinion and interpretation. When information is incomplete or disputed, we should say so clearly.

Independence and fairness

We seek to work independently, disclose relevant conflicts where they matter and represent significant perspectives fairly. Giving space to a view does not mean endorsing it.

Community dignity

We avoid dehumanising language, stereotypes and unnecessary exposure of personal details. We take particular care with children, survivors, vulnerable people and communities whose experiences are often misrepresented.

Images, documents and quotations

We should use material responsibly, identify sources where possible and avoid presenting edited or illustrative material as original evidence.

Corrections and accountability

If we publish a material error, we aim to correct it transparently. Please use our Corrections Policy or contact contact@janman.org.
